How To Create Diamond Shapes In Illustrator Tutorial

Rectangle

To create an Illustrator diamond shapes, go to the rectangle tool and create a square by holding down the shift key and then rotate it by 45 degrees and then you can use the direct selection tool in the tools panel to select the top point and drag upwards with the direct selection tool. Go to the bottom point and drag downwards to create the classic form.

Fill

Hollow

Create a basic vector using the pen tool as described above. Add the points to the current art board. Select that path and then drag and hold down the alt / option key to duplicate that design. Re-size it using the bounding box. Go to the object menu and compound and make. You can then right click the entry and then use the direct selection tool to move the inner part and once you are happy with your design, right click and exit the isolation mode.
