Halftone. How to use the halftone pattern filter on images etc in SumoPaint tutorial as well as create spiral gradients and more, Open image in sumopaint. Set color in the toolbar such as foreground to black and background to white (this depends on the image to the result such as including transparency). Filters and then Pixelate and Halftone pattern. Set pattern scale (smaller the better). Set pattern shape such as square or hexagon etc (they all have their uses). Settings such as constrain ON, frame shape ON (useful for empty space / hollow / outline effect). Set double pattern (creates an unusual combination of pattern) and subtractive fill (interesting with pattern scale), Scale offset to create more intense light and dark halftone patterns in sumo paint. Click OK. Go to the filters and pixelate and halftone pattern and re-apply but use a different scale and pattern shape diamond etc. The halftone pattern filter can be used in combination with itself multiple times with different settings of scale offset and frame shape and scale and pattern shape. The combination of the halftone patterns can be used to create countless unique halftone pattern designs from any image. How to use Halftone pattern filter on layers ? Open image in Sumo Paint. Layer and duplicate layer. Work on the duplicate layer. Filters and pixelate and halftone pattern. Set scale, pattern shape, offset etc such as using circles etc but in this case, you will see the original behind. Click OK. Layer menu and flatten image. You can, of course, create multiple duplicate layers or perhaps use different images as layers and combine those with different halftone pattern filter effects. You can also combine the halftone pattern layers eith other effects such as blurs to create a blurry halftone pattern effect etc as well as combine the layers with different blending modes via the layer palette / panel. You can also transform the halftone pattern layers and combine those.
Spiral gradient. How to use the spiral gradient feature in Sumo Paint to create amazing gradients in seconds. Open image or new document. Go to the gradient fill tool in Sumo Paint toolbar and go to type (top bar) and select spiral gradient. Select a gradient. Set hue and saturation etc or randomize the gradient. Set the blending mode (normal). Set spiral (change decay). Set mode such as single point or double center point for the spiral gradient (or square pattern with contour which is one of the more interesting ones). Set divisions for the spiral gradient - the more the better for some extreme contours (likewise set reflected to ON). Set blending mode to difference (or something different from normal). Re-apply the gradient over the existing gradient design (stop if you don't want to add any effects etc). Filters menu in Sumo Paint. Distort. Kaleidoscope and set divisions, direction and scale (set great than one to zoom into the center of the spiral gradient combination)
