Tutorial

 

Tutorial 1: Photoshop Elements 2 (and probably other versions) only allows a limited access to layer effects styles. If you have a set of styles from Photoshop, you can generally apply them in PSE but you won't be able to edit them

 

If you want to add a thin or thick black stroke to a custom shape in PSE there is no obvious style setting for this, bevel etc but no stroke settings. To add a black stroke to the shape, you must first simplify the current style

 

1) Select a basic style with the current fill color

2) Draw shape

3) Click the simplify button

4) Go to the edit menu and select the stroke setting and apply a stroke to the shape
