Plug-in notes
1] Textures Create exciting textured backgrounds / designs with this powerful symbol plugin.
2] Density The background design can take many forms such as filling the entire document, or perhaps a very small area such as a cross design or a frame and other symbol distributions
3] Edge size Control the size of the edge and the middle of the background design
4] Random Create controlled designs or totally randomized designs. The plug-in can be used to create a design using the current selected symbol or the plug-in will randomly select symbols from the symbols palette.
5] Symbols Use the symbol texture tool with any symbols (images etc). The document can be filled with pages of text or pages of your favourite football or celebrity or hearts and other designs, basically anything.
6] Frames Create hi-impact frame designs using the density / distribution features of the plug-in. The symbols are all placed around the edge of the document, combined with rotation and scaling and other settings, many different frame designs can be created
7] Animations Use the textures plug-in to create animations (via layers). The plug-in comes with options to generate items across layers, modify the density, the rotation across layers. The layers can then be exported to other formats such as SWF creating unique animated texture designs
8] Spray Modify the design further using the native Illustrator ® spray tools. The symbols generated by the plug-in can be further modified by selecting the symbols and using the symbols tools to increase or decrease size, shift the symbols, rotate the symbols, apply varying degrees of opacity as well as staining the symbols with the current color. The symbols can also be replaced using the replace command in the symbols palette.
Plug-in symbols Symbols are a great way of creating in Illustrator. It is a store for nearly all types of path and path combinations as well as images and more. Useful for creating multiple instances with little overhead. Symbols can be modified at any point in the creative process. Symbols can be used in other area of Illustrator
Symbols are all accessed via the symbols palette, load libraries of symbols and select via the symbols palette
It is very easy to create your own symbols for use with the plug-in i.e. simply select some text or an image and drag into the symbols palette. If you wish to fill the document with letters, remove all the current symbols and drag text, ordered or random text into the symbols palette and apply the plug-in
